All the Goodies in the World !
I regularly scan the sections on Canon and Nikon Digital cameras looking for bargains. And as for darkroom equipment - heck it's really cheap.
I confess it - I'm an Ebay Junkie !
That is - I just can't resist scanning through the ads in the Photo and Book section.
But I didn't really want to go back and forth to the main menu just to read things in current auctions.
So I've set up a few pages with the goodies arranged by type -
Digital and Film Cameras
Photographic accessories
Books and Misc Photo stuff incuding scanners and camcorders
Web Authoring, templates, ipods, LCD TVs Old and Art Photos for sale.
The great thing is it's all live and when you refresh the page it's just as fast as Ebay.
As I've put several sections on each page I find it really useful to just flip to the page and click the section.
It's loads better than the previous RSS Page I had and it's pretty comprehensive.
Now I have to say that I put this up for my own convenience but then I thought you might find it useful too. All the Ebay.co.uk photography sections are accessible from any of the new pages that come up when you click on a section.
Have fun - access this resource - have a great time exploring !
Oh and good luck with the buying and selling...
Looks like a GREAT time to pick up medium format equipment of all kinds - everything looks like a going out of business sale !!!
Oh and just to get an extra buzz from ebay auctions, why not try out my mis-spelt search machine at www.goldenyearscash.com ....
Here's how to win Ebay auctions by sniping (not as fast as a sniping program but it's cheap (Free). Anyone can do this -it's easy.
You will need a watch or clock with a second hand though.
Open the auction page for the item in Explorer. Do this abut 5 minutes before the auction ends.
Then open a new window You now have 2 windows with the same item.
The original has the item description and we'll keep this one as it is.This window we'll use as a countdown timer.
Decide your MAXIMUM amount you want to pay for the item.
Fill in the box in the second window (your BIDDING WINDOW) with that amount and make a bid.
Do not confirm the bid yet.
Do not put any bid amount in the TIMER window.
You'll probably take a minute or so to fill the bid in so at this point dwitch to the timer window and keep refreshing it until about 45 seconds before the end of the auction click your timer and - then switch to the bidding window and press the confirm button.at about 30 seconds before end of auction. This takes about 8 to 10 seconds. If you are outbid at this point you may still have time to increase your bid. (or not according to your connection !)
I've used this system several times and it works well except when other bidders are using sniper software... good luck with the bidding !
