Squidoo Thoughts and Queries

Since the 'Google Slap' where many squido lenses were greatly demoted or even dropped by Google, many authors have queried if its worth still writing Squidoo lenses.

I can really understand Google's actions since a huge number of Squidoo lenses were just junk spam sites with no really new content at all and were just in some cases a manufacturers photo and description of the single product with just enough other modules to keep the site live. This combined with a link to an affiliate or Amazon site was just blatant advetising.

Google Adwords would look upon this as a waste of their customers advertising and money so this is (I believe) the main reason for google's lack of interest in Squidoo sites.

However, Lenses written for niches and with new information on other subjects should still be acceptable to Google - BUT Do Google have the time to check these sites ?

Only time will tell - undoubtedly Google make lots of money from adwords displayed on sites and they would be foolish to reject that out of hand.
