Microstock has certainly put the cat amongst the stock photo business -but yet it HAS to be the business of the future.
Yes its a low fee per picture
Yes the cost of taking pictures rises all the time
Yes anyone can sell pictures now - and why not ?
Who's to say that Mrs McGonnagall's pictures of her persian cat are less valid than anyone else's pictures.
Pictures are pictures.
Digital Cameras have made good pictures accessible to all
The future market for good Microstock pictures is unbelievable.
Just imagine how many websites there will be in 5 years time -- billions !
and nearly all of them will need pictures .
Anyone clinging to the notion that stock photography is here to stay is deluding themselves.
Stock and Microstock photography are CUSTOMER led businesses and the greener the supplier the better !
Customers will go to whoever gives the best deals.
Me - I'm taking tens of thousands of high quality microstock pictures...
