I've just updated the Harry Potter Squidoo lens with lots of new things.
The Ebay sections update themselves daily of course but if you want to check out an auction you must click on it to get the current auction bid price.

What's the Truth about taking surveys for Cash - well it's not quite as simple as it sounds. Big companies need the marketing information bt they mostly put it out to independent market research companies - who use agents or subcontractors with fairly strict guidelines.
So don't bother writing in to MacDonals or Pizza Hut - they already have arrangements in place.
There really ARE opportunities about being a mystery shopper or taking telephone surveys though and I've placed a discussion about these on my new Squidoo Lens

It looks like unles you are prepared to spend many hours researching companies till you find one keen to take new researchers/surveyors, its probably better to sign up with an agency or better still buy a list of companies that actually ARE looking for people. I've weeded out the obvious con artists selling 20 year old lists (or ones they bought on ebay for $2 !) so I think these are genuine offers.
Please let me know if you've had problems doing survey/mystery shopping work and I'll add them to the list after checking them out.

I have a number of websites and even more Squidoo lenses on various subject from How to build a robot (http://www.squidoo.com/Robotbuilding/) to Kinky Boots (http://www.squidoo.com/kinkyboots/)
And they do get a fairly steady stream of visitors. But not enough ....
Then I got the email ... (I'll tell you about that later.)
Most Directories offer you a free listing and this is GREAT because it's a one-way link (and search engines like Google give a much higher rating to one-way links)
The only problem is that to submit listings for even one website to hundreds or thousands of directories is really time-consuming and repetitive .
I looked at the letter below and couldn't at first believe it. A FREE program that will submit your url and details AND keywords to 350 directories ... so I downloaded it and it really works.
There is an option to upgrade to a better version of the program that will upload to around 1700 (seventeen HUNDRED) directories - imagine the boost that gives your website in the search machine links.
The program is by Brad Callen who wrote the excellent ebook on Adwords. He really nows what he is talking about on SEO.
Now don't go rushing around telling everyone but there is a free download - just grab it while it's there. The reason it's time-sensitive is that pretty soon everyone will be using it and then you will lose your advantage.
This program really *IS* boosting my visitors daily.
Here's the letter I received -
Hey Keith, as you probably know already, Google is constantly changing the way they rank websites. These days, it is absolutely critical to get high quality, 1-way links to your website.
Reciprocal linking just isn't anywhere near as effective as it once was. The problem that I, and most people are running into is it's HARD to figure out how to get 1 way links... let alone high quality ones!
One of the absolute best, and even better... "easiest" ways to get these quality, one way links is by submitting your website to website directories. By doing so, you can not only get one way links, pretty much instantly, but you can control the anchor text used in your link.
Basically, this means that you can completely control which keywords you want to rank highly for! Up until now, there was still a problem, and that was...
1. Finding the website directories you can submit your site to AND
2. Once you find those directories, it takes quite a bit of time to actually fill in all of your website details, and submit your website to them...
But, guess what? I've come across a brand new program created by Brad Callen and the Bryxen Software team, called "Directory Submitter". It allows you to quickly submit your website to thousands of website directories with a few mouse clicks! No kidding...
I've been using it and it's saved me literally hours of time in both submitting AND in finding these directories.
Here's the link to check out the software:

But, please keep this to yourself, as I'd like to keep this our secret weapon :-)
Enjoy!
